These include:

  1. Point of sale/consignment: Offered to sellers to secure downside protection.

  2. Point of purchase: Offered to buyers looking for increased buyer protections.

  3. Time of Lending: Offered to asset backed lenders to increase their LTV.

Each context is customizable to our partner’s particular use case and risk tolerance.

Market Opportunity

Resale markets are large and expanding, growing 15% YOY from a market of $290B for all resale assets. Currently only <1% of these sales are guaranteed.

Barker's market research revealed strong customer interest for Barker's warranty services product at consignment, with 96% of respondents showing interest for the offering. Additionally, 82% of survey participants suggested premium rates at or above 3% to be acceptable. This puts customer accepted premiums well within the profitable range based on Barker's premium projections (insurance pricing projections). Where a high degree of profitability was shown at a 2.5% premium rate (GLR ~21%).
